Brain aneurysm repair
A brain aneurysm repair consists of placing a metal clip on blood vessels that
has a risk of rupturing. The neurosurgeon does a small incision on the scalp and
skull to access the vein.
Chronic subdural hematoma
This disease is a collection of old blood located between the surface of the
brain and its outer covering. Treatment consists of drilling small holes on the
skull to help relieve the pressure and facilitate the drainage of blood.
A lumbar puncture is a procedure that consists of extracting a small sample of
cerebrospinal fluid. This test can help diagnose epilepsy, multiple sclerosis,
or other disorders of the central nervous system.
This procedure is used to treat pain caused by vertebral compression fractures.
During the procedure, the neurosurgeon injects bone cement on the fractured
vertebrae to help restore its position.
