After the good doctor recommended I have ACDF surgery on my C5-C6, I did my own research. He was patient with me on this. I'm sure it's annoying to have your expertise questioned. I spoke to two other neurosurgeons. Both told me basically the same as him, and since I already knew and trusted him, I had him do the surgery. It was a success, and he's been diligent with me on the follow-ups.
One more thing: Dr Arellano's philosophy about surgery is that the best one is the one we can avoid. Even though he gets paid from surgeries, he's fully “on your team.”
