Comedian and actor Kenan Thompson recently shared details about his health in an interview with People magazine. He revealed that for nearly two years he had been dealing with persistent acid reflux, particularly after eating acidic foods. What initially seemed like occasional discomfort gradually became a recurring issue that began to interfere with his daily life and professional responsibilities.

In addition to heartburn, Thompson noticed unexpected symptoms affecting his voice. He experienced hoarseness and even temporary voice loss while working, along with nighttime discomfort at home. He described episodes of acid burping and frequent hiccups that disrupted his sleep, making it difficult to rest properly. Although he initially turned to over-the-counter remedies to manage the symptoms, they eventually stopped providing relief.
When the discomfort became unmanageable, Thompson decided to consult a specialist. He was diagnosed with GERD (gastroesophageal reflux disease) and was prescribed a treatment plan that led to immediate improvement. Alongside medical therapy, he has committed to making dietary changes to better support his recovery and reduce the likelihood of future flare-ups.
