Appendectomy or appendix surgery is used to surgically remove the appendix when
it presents inflammation or infection that could lead to more complications.
Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD)
Gastroesophageal reflux occurs when the stomach acid moves up into the mouth and
stomach (esophagus) producing irritation and heartburn. Surgery consists of
increasing the pressure around the lower part of the esophagus to prevent the
acids to move back.
