Peyronie's disease - Penile curvature information and locations in Mexico

Peyronie‘s disease or penile curvature is a condition resulting from fibrous scar tissue (plaques) that develops on the penis causing a significant bend and painful erections.
Peyronie‘s disease can be caused by minor or repeated penile injuries during sexual or athletic activities. During the healing process, the scar tissue can form in a disorganized manner forming plaques on the top, bottom, or dorsal side of the penis.
During an erection, the tunica albuginea stretches and fills with blood, causing the penis to expand. With Peyronie‘s disease, the plaques or scar tissue doesn’t’ stretch. Some men can develop more than one plaque, which results in more complex curvatures.

The type of treatment will depend on how long you’ve had the symptoms. In the acute phase, oral medication can be recommended or other types of therapy. Surgery is advised if you’ve had the condition for 9 to 12 months.
