Intrauterine insemination - IUI information and locations in Mexico

Intrauterine insemination or IUI, is a procedure where sperm is placed directly into the uterus to facilitate fertilization. Compared to IVF, this method is less invasive and expensive.
The IUI procedure helps increase the number of sperm that reaches the fallopian tubes, therefore facilitating the fertilization of the egg. Some patients can start with ovarian stimulation before the IUI procedure. The procedure is done around the ovulation time, then, the day of the insemination, the male will provide a semen sample; the semen will be washed, this to leave a concentrated and healthy sample of sperm.

When the sperm is ready, the woman will lie on an exam table; using a speculum, the specialist will open the vagina walls to see into the cervix. Using a catheter, the sperm sample will be placed into the uterus. A pregnancy test is recommended after two weeks of IUI.
