Am I a candidate for a glycolic acid peel?
This procedure tends to work best for patients with lighter complexions. Skin sags or more noticeable wrinkles could not respond well to treatment.
Will it be painful?
You likely will feel something similar to sunburn on the area; cool compresses are applied after the acid is removed to alleviate the sensation.
What happens after treatment?
During the following days, your skin will be red in color, and it will start to scale for the following 3 to 7 days. Some patients could need bandages to be placed over their skin to improve the treatment. You should avoid direct sunlight.
Will I need follow-up treatments?
Most doctors recommend you to repeat the treatment every 3 or 4 weeks, depending on your needs and the condition of your skin and times may vary. We recommend you to speak with your specialist to know if you need a second treatment.
