Toluca is located in Estado de Mexico, it offers an international airport and is just a
two-hour drive from Mexico City. Toluca is one of Mexico’s most industrialized cities in the
country with international companies like General Motors, Nissan, as well as Johnson
Controls, and Bosh among others.
This city is well known for its great colonial and neoclassical architecture, which can be
reflected in Portales and The Martir Plaza, where you can have a complete view of The
Cathedral of San Jose and the Municipal Palace. In addition to the scenery, here, you can
find handicrafts and food from the region.
If you want to walk around the city we recommend visiting The Cosmovitral a botanical garden
famous for housing the largest stained-glass window in the world and more than 400 plants
variety.
You can pay with US dollars, Credit/Debit cards on most restaurants and establishments. If
you pay with cash the exchange rate will be lower, it’s better to visit a foreign exchange
agency, a bank or an ATM to turn your currency into Mexican pesos.

Safety tips
Like any other city, we recommend to avoid walking alone after dark or travel on remote
roads during the night.
Arriving by air
Toluca International Airport or Lic. Adolfo López Mateos International Airport offers
private transportation with authorized cab companies. But if you prefer to rent a car, there
are several companies located in the airport.

How to move around the city
Public and private transportation is very affordable and it will take you to most places.
Due to the size of the city, traffic can be a little bit crowded so we recommend taking a
